ADA Amendments Act of 2008 Passes Senate
The Senate unanimously passed the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act of 2008 today (link to legislation). If signed by the president, the bill would overturn a Supreme Court decision that had narrowly interpreted the law and excluded certain people from coverage under the 1990 Americans With Disability Act. The House passed similar legislation in June (text available here) by a margin of 402-17.
