The High Court's Seemingly Mundane Docket
In more helpful analysis of the U.S. Supreme Court’s new term, the Constitutional Accountability Center (CAC) delves into a string of cases the high court will hear, including ones involving government accountability, federalism and voting rights. The CAC notes that at the moment the high court’s docket may not be packed with “constitutional blockbusters,” but that it nonetheless includes issues of great impact to Americans. “Whether the Roberts Court restricts or respects Congress’s power to protect our fundamental freedoms – as well as our own power to protect against government and corporate misconduct – could have an even greater impact on the constitutional landscape than the blockbusters of last term,” the CAC states.
