House Votes On Torture
The House of Representatives voted 222-199 to "require intelligence agents to comply with the Army Field Manual, which meets the Geneva Conventions on the treatment of war prisoners and prohibits torture, the AP reported. The measure would outlaw interrogation methods such as simulated drowning.
Tim Weiner, Pulitzer Prize winning author of "Legacy of Ashes: The History of the CIA" had a commentary in the New York Times on changes in intelligence collection methods.
