Stop! In the Name of Law . . . . Federal Trial Judges Can Stop Gitmo Transfers to Foreign Countries

SCOTUSBlog reports that "The D.C. Circuit Court ruled, in a 2-1 decision Friday, that federal trial judges still have the authority — for the time being, at least — to stop the government from transferring Guantanamo Bay detainees to countries where they fear torture." Decisions in two pending Supreme Court detainee cases may change this, however.
